GBAA Softball offers girls divisions for players ages 6 to 18. From instructional and developmental Rookie for our youngest ballplayers to 18U division for those 18 and up, our program is built around teaching the fundamentals of the game in a positive, encouraging environment.
All leagues are determined by the players age as of 8/31/2027.
Divisions
- Rookie Girls (4 years): Instructional and developmental league, geared as an introduction into the game of softball. This division is for 4-year olds only. Games are 2 innings. No score is kept and no umpires are present. RIF (Reduced Injury Factor) softballs are used for this league.
- 6U (5-6 years): Introduces players to competitive play. This division is coach pitch ONLY (NO kid pitch). The batting tee is used for this league as well. NO high-powered bats are allowed, including double wall constructed or composite bats. This includes two-piece bats (half and half construction where the barrel is aluminum and the handle is composite). Bats cannot contain composite materials. Facemasks are required for all players. 2 1/4 bats ONLY in this division.
- 8U (7-8 years): This league is an introduction to kid pitch and will have a mix of both coach pitch and kid pitch. Bats must be of single-wall aluminum construction for the handle and barrel. End caps may be a material other than aluminum. NO high-powered bats are allowed, including double wall constructed or composite bats. This includes two-piece bats (half and half construction where the barrel is aluminum and the handle is composite). Bats cannot contain composite materials. 2 1/4 bats ONLY in this division.
- 10U (9-10 years): This division plays a combined schedule of interleague play and local opponents. Composite bats ARE allowed as long as they meet ASA/USA softball requirements.
- 12U (11-12 years): This division plays a combined schedule of interleague play and local opponents. Composite bats ARE allowed as long as they meet ASA/USA softball requirements.
- 14U - 18U (13-18 years): This division plays a schedule of local opponents, There is no interleague play. Composite bats ARE allowed as long as they meet ASA/USA softball requirements.
Season & Registration
Registration for Spring ball is open from November 20th thru January 15th, giving approximately 8 weeks of registration. Registration for Fall ball 2027 will open from June 11th thru July 23rd, giving approximately 6 weeks of registration.

What to Bring
Players should bring a glove, turf shoes, helmet, bat and water bottle to every practice and game. GBAA provides game jersey, pants/shorts and socks. The belt color will be chosen by the coach. Softball facemasks are a parent preference.
